How to Save Google Earth Map Files

Save

Google Earth is an amazing piece of software that lets you explore the globe. Google Earth features multiple layers of information that come from Google's database. Goodgle Earth allows you to view things like historical places of interest, restaurants and businesses or even your grandmother's house. One nice feature of Google Earth is the ability to save the screen as a .JPG image file that you can view later. By customizing what layers are being viewed, you can build a map that is specific to the information you would like to have on it.

  • Open Google Earth and navigate to the area you would like a map of.

  • Click "File" on the Google Earth menu.

  • Select "Save," then "Save Image...." Type in a file name for the map and click "Save."
