How to Fix Yahoo Messenger From Having the EXE Crash

      Upgrade Yahoo Messenger. Click on the "Help" tab on your messenger and select "Check for Updates." Wait as Yahoo contacts its server to download any available updates. Relaunch Yahoo Messenger when the updates are installed. If this doesn't help, go to the next step.

      Install the latest edition of "Adobe Flash Player." Launch your web browser and go to Adobe's website to install the player (see Resources). Finish the install and relaunch Yahoo Messenger. If this doesn't help either, go to the next step.

      Disable Windows firewall for Yahoo Messenger. Click on the Start button and select "Control Panel." Double-click on "Windows Firewall." Click on "Security" and select "Allow a Program through Windows Firewall." Click on the "Exceptions" tab. Scroll down the list and place a check mark next to "Yahoo! Messenger" and "Yahoo FT server." Relaunch Yahoo Messenger. If it still crashes, go to the next step.
