How to Remove Coffee Stains From a China Cup

Things You'll Need
- Knife
- Lemon
- Tea kettle
- Measuring spoons
- Baking soda
- Dish pan
- Dishwashing detergent
- Dish-drying rack
- Clean cloth

Slice a fresh lemon and squeeze the juice from one of the slices into your china cup.

Boil water in a tea kettle and pour it into the china cup with the lemon juice. Let the lemon and water solution sit in the china cup overnight.

Rinse your china cup with warm water. Pour 1 tsp. baking soda into the china cup and fill the cup halfway with hot water. Scrub remaining coffee stains with a dish scrubber. Follow with a warm water rinse.

Fill a dish pan with hot water and a squirt of dish washing detergent. Mix the detergent around to make a soapy solution. Wash the baking soda and any last coffee stains out of your china cups.

Rinse your china cups with warm water. Dry with a clean towel.

Tips & Warnings
Substitute equal parts of white vinegar and table salt if you do not have lemons. Fill your china cup so the stains are covered, and allow the mixture to sit in your cup for 10 minutes before washing.
Fresh coffee stains are more easily removed then older ones. Use 1 tsp. chlorine bleach mixed with 1 cup hot water to tackle stubborn coffee stains in your china cups. Wash thoroughly afterward to get rid of bleach odor.
