Foreigners residing in Canada can apply for the landed immigrant visa from inside Canada if they meet certain criteria required by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). If you have worked as a temporary foreign worker or have completed your education from a Canadian university, you are probably eligible to apply for a landed immigrant visa in Canadian Experience class.

Instructions

      Fill in and complete the application forms and attach the necessary documents. Fill out the following forms:
      (IMM 0008-Generic)
      Background / Declaration (IMM 0008 -- Schedule 1)
      (IMM 0008 -- Schedule 8);
      Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)

      Calculate and pay the processing fees. You can pay your fees by Canadian check, bank draft or money order made payable to the "Canadian Consulate General."

      Mail your documents to
      Canadian Consulate/CEC
      P.O. Box 660
      Fort Erie, Ontario, L2A 6R6.
      Upon receipt of your application, a CIC visa officer will check your application for completeness and correctness.

      Get your medical examination done when asked by the CIS. Meanwhile, CIC will perform a background check. Once you meet all the criteria, you will be awarded a landed immigrant visa.

      Get your passport stamped at a port of entry to officially land as a landed immigrant. Your Permanent Resident Card will be mailed to you within five weeks after your landing at a Canadian port of entry.
