Instructions

    • 1

Choose your cookie shapes wisely. Cookies that are round or have few pointed edges will most likely survive the trip better. Traditional round cookies are bar far the best choice for a shape.

    • 2

Choose cookies that fit the environment where they are sent. For example, a box of cookies sent to Afghanistan or Iraq will likely encounter hot temperatures at some point. Chocolate or candy-covered chocolates that can melt should be avoided. Also, stick to cookies and avoid brownies and other similar baked goods, as they may arrive as a pile of goo.

    • 3

Place two cookies back to back (flat side to flat side) and wrap them with plastic wrap for packaging. Repeat the process for all cookies you will be sending.

    • 4

Stack the cookies so they will fit in an air-tight plastic container and wrap them with bubble wrap. Place the cookies in the container and seal tightly. Use package tape as an extra seal.

    • 5

Wrap the cookie container in bubble wrap and pack in a sturdy mailing box. Add extra bubble wrap if necessary and tape the box tightly closed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Perform a shake test on your finished package before mailing. Shake the box for several minutes, open the box, remove the wrap and examine the cookies. How they look will be a good indication of how they will look when they arrive.

  • Consider using a flat-rate box from the U.S. Postal Service, as this will help cut down on the cost of shipping.
