How to Remove a Stuck Barrel on a Ruger 10/22

      Ensure that your Ruger 10/22 rifle is unloaded.

      Cock the rifle and verify that the bolt is closed.

      Move the safety (located before the trigger) so that the button is centered with an equal amount protruding from either side of the rifle. Improper safety positioning can cause the barrel to stick and possibly damage the rifle. If your barrel is stuck, the safety is most likely the cause.

      Remove the barrel and receiver by lifting them out of the stock.
