How to Program a Genie Intellicode Garage Door Opener

Genie garage door openers were first produced in 1954 when the company was known as the Alliance Manufacturing Company. Genie was the first radio controlled garage door opener to be mass produced. Since 1954, as the appeal for automatic garage door openers grew, the Genie name has become the trusted name in openers. Today Genie garage door openers include the "Intellicode remote access security system" which changes the security code every time the remote transmitter is activated.
Since there are literally billions of available combinations, this is one of the most secure systems available today.

Things You'll Need

• Garage door Intellicode remote

Instructions

1. Bring the remote to the garage so you are within reach of the opener.

2. Locate the "Learn Code" button on the back of the main unit.

3. Press and release the "Learn Code" button. This will cause the LED to begin blinking one time per second.

4. Press the button on the remote unit. This will cause the LED to glow steadily.

5. Press the button on the remote unit again. This will cause the LED to turn off.

6. Press the button on the remote unit, the garage door should open. If the door does not open, then repeat steps three through 5 and attempt to open the door again.

Tips & Warnings

• You can have up to seven remotes programmed to one Intellicode garage door opener.
