How to Burn DVDs Quickly & Free
Although burning DVDs once required the assistance of high-tech machinery, it now is easy for you to burn a DVD in your own home on your personal computer. Burning a DVD at home requires nothing more than a Mac or a Windows-based computer and a DVD. There is no extra cost incurred when using your PC to burn a disc, aside form the cost of the blank DVD, which is minimal.

On a Windows computer

Insert a blank DVD into your computer's DVD drive. A dialog box will appear.

Choose "Burn files to data disc" from the dialog box.

Type a name for the disc in the box. Click "Next." The computer will now begin to format the disc. An empty disc folder will open when the formatting completes.

Click, hold and drag the file or files you want to burn to the DVD into the empty disc folder. The files are automatically saved to the disc.
On a Mac

Insert a DVD into the DVD drive. A disc icon will appear on the desktop.

Click, hold and drag the file or files you want to burn to the DVD into the disc icon.

Double-click the disc icon.

Click the "Burn" button. The Mac will now burn the files to the disc.
