How to Split Audio From a YouTube Video

YouTube is a popular media resource that often contains videos of content that is hard to find through other outlets. Splitting the audio from YouTube videos, fortunately, has become a fairly simple procedure. In just a few steps, you can add the audio from your favorite YouTube clips to your personal music collection.

Instructions

1. Go to YouTube's website and find the video whose audio you would like to split from it. Click on the video's title.

2. Copy the web address, or the URL, of the YouTube video by highlighting the URL in your web browser. Right-click and select "Copy."

3. Open up a new tab or window in your preferred web browser and go to a video conversion site (see: References).

4. Paste the YouTube web address that you copied earlier into the text box on the website. To do this, click inside the text box, then right-click and select "Paste." If the "Download" option is not on the home screen of the video conversion site, press the "Enter" key on your keyboard to go to the next page.

5. Click "Download" on the video conversion website to split the audio from the YouTube video. This audio file will be downloaded onto your computer's desktop.
