How to Operate a Wet-Dry Vacuum

A wet-dry vacuum is designed to pick up both wet and dry material and store it in a large, empty container on wheels. Unlike other vacuums where the main body of the device runs along carpet and floors, a wet-dry vacuum only has a expendable tube, used to pick up messes in workshops and flooding in a basement. Despite these differences, wet-dry vacuums are operated similarly to most standard vacuums. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Slide on one of the attachments onto the end of the vacuum hose. These attachments include thin, wide devices used to pick up carpet debris to wider, circular openings used for the quick removal of larger objects such as leaves.

    • 2

Plug the vacuum into a power outlet, then press the "Power" button on the vacuum.

    • 3

Remove the liquid or other debris with the vacuum hose. Only pick up either all-wet or all-dry items at a time as it makes disposing of the contents easier.

    • 4

Press the release buttons on the sides of the wet-dry vacuum to unlock the top of the vacuum from the body. This exposes the contents picked up by the vacuum.

    • 5

Dispose of leaves in a compost pile or dirt in a trash can. Dump liquid waste into a toilet and flush the toilet.
