Instructions

    • 1

Drink a glass of water before entering the shower to keep your body hydrated.

    • 2

Turn on the steam function 10 minutes before you enter the shower so it reaches the maximum temperature. You can turn on the steam when you enter the shower, but it probably won't reach as high of a temperature. Keep the shower door closed to trap the steam inside.

    • 3

Get in the shower quickly, and close the door. Add five drops of aromatherapy oil to the steam outlet to disperse the scent through the steam. Breathe in deeply to smell the oils. Aromatherapy oils are useful for relaxation, but you don't have to add them to the steam bath.

    • 4

Exfoliate your skin using a loofa. Steam showers loosen dead skin cells and make it easier to brush them off.

    • 5

Turn off the steam after 15 to 30 minutes. Turn on the cold water and shower to return to your core body temperature. Shampoo and condition your hair at this time. The shower and steam can be used at the same time, but make sure to shower with cold water when you are finished.

    • 6

Turn off the water, and open the shower door. Towel dry. Air out the room by opening any doors and windows.
