How to Get Rid of Flying Insects

Flying insects are a nuisance to everyone and can be difficult to avoid. When they come into your home, there is virtually no escape. To get rid of them, you need to make the environment inhospitable for the insects. Bugs such as mosquitoes, gnats, fruit flies and dragonflies are all attracted to standing water, rotting food and places with moist substances and growing bacteria. If you are consistent with your cleaning routine, you will be able to breathe at last in an insect-free house.

Things You'll Need

• Pyrethrin spray
• Bug traps
• Repellant mist system

Instructions

1. Locate the source of the insect infestation. Check food cabinets, fruit and vegetable racks, garbage cans and behind appliances.

2. Remove any of the possible breeding grounds for the insects and clean them thoroughly. You will need to get rid of the larva as well as the actual insects to make sure they go away.

3. Use a pyrethrin spray to kill any insects you see on the spot.

4. Place preventative measures in the places where you have a flying insect problem. Choose whether you want to set traps out in popular buggy areas, use a repellent misting system or spray the areas frequently with pyrethrin.

Tips & Warnings

• Clean out your washing machine's lint and standing water to prevent bugs coming into your home.

• If the bugs don't leave or if they start coming more frequently, you will need to consult an exterminator.
