Instructions

    • 1

Plant aloe plants indoors. If you live in a warm climate, they can be planted outdoors, but only in sunny or mostly sunny areas. This is because aloe plants contain over 95 percent water and have a high potential of freezing.

    • 2

Place the aloe plants in fast-draining and fertile soil. If you are planting the aloe plant inside, place an inch of gravel at the bottom of the pot to allow for adequate drainage. Use a potting mix that has sand or gravel added to it.

    • 3

In the summer, water your aloe plant so that the soil is completely soaked. Let the soil dry out completely before watering again. In the winter, your aloe plant will become dormant and survive mostly on its stored water. Let the soil dry completely, and then water with only a cup or two of water.
