Job objectives are not only a way to introduce yourself but, also a way for employers to see that the applicant fits the description of the ideal candidate. Objectives should be concise and describe why the applicant is the right candidate for the job. Because the objective is the first item a potential employer reads, it must project your focus and strengths.

      Identify the right objectives to match the job posting for which the objectives will be used.

      Describe the goal of applying to the job, but do not describe the job posting itself. It's OK to use keywords from the job description so that the employer knows you have, in fact, read through the description, but do not repeat full phrases or sentences.

      Emphasize experience that relates to the job posting. Highlight relevant experience first and be sure to catch

      Use strong verbs. Action verbs are measurable and make the quality of the objective much better. These verbs are a way to communicate what it is the objectives are describing. Use verbs such as, write, plan, produce and conduct.

      Be specific and avoid generalities. It is important to refrain from using infinitives, including "to know," "to understand" or "to learn" as these are not measurable.
