The iPod is a portable media playing and storing device that is primarily used to store music files. LimeWire is a free application download that enables users to download files from their peers as well as purchase music files for 99 cents per track. Open the saved folder containing your Limewire music files. Unless you choose for LimeWire to save your downloaded files in an alternate folder during installation, by default, the music files will be stored in the "My Documents" folder of "My Computer." Look for a folder with "LimeWire Tunes" in the title.

2
Open the iTunes application. If you do not have iTunes installed on your computer you can install it from the software CD provided with your iPod.

3
Drag and drop the files from the LimeWire folder into the iTunes "Library." When asked to convert the files to M4A format click "OK."

Connect your iPod player to the computer with the provided USB cable. iTunes will automatically recognize the iPod and sync the newly converted LimeWire music files to it.
