How to Create a New Category in a Palm Address Book

One of the most useful features of a Palm handheld is its ability to store contact information. Using categories to file this valuable information makes retrieving it even easier.

Things You’ll Need:

Creating Categories for Your Palm Address Book

Step1
Press the Address (phone) button to display the Address list.
Step2
Choose Edit Categories from the Category drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step3
Tap New to create a new category.
Step4
Enter your category name, then tap OK.
Step5
Tap OK to close the Edit Categories box.

Filing Addresses in Different Categories

Step1
Select an address you'd like to file in a category.
Step2
Tap Edit to display the Address Edit box.
Step3
Choose a category from the Category drop-down menu. Or tap Details and choose a category from the Address Entry Details box.
Step4
Tap Done when you're finished editing.

Tips & Warnings

  • Press the Address button to cycle through different categories.
  • You can rename existing categories by using the Rename feature in the Edit Categories box.
  • You can also delete an existing category.
  • If you delete an existing category that contains addresses, the addresses filed under that category will move to the Unfiled category.
  • Choose a category from the Category drop-down menu to display the contents of that category.
