How to Reset a 3700 Satellite Receiver

Unplug a 3700 to reset the satellite receiver.

The 3700 satellite receiver is a free-to-air (FTA) component manufactured by Samsung. An FTA receiver is designed to capture and transmit any available satellite television signals that are not encoded for paid subscription customers. If something goes wrong with the 3700 receiver, such as a screen lock-up or other malfunction, resetting the unit may solve the problem. The steps outlined below can also be used to reset other types of Samsung satellite receivers, such as models used with DirecTV subscription services.

Instructions

1. Turn on the 3700 satellite receiver or leave it on if the component is already powered up.

2. Pull the plug on the electrical cord from the power outlet.

3. Wait at least 15 seconds, then reconnect the receiver's power cord to the wall outlet.

4. Press the "Channel" button on the receiver's front panel or use the remote control after the display screen illuminates on the front panel of the receiver.

5. Press the "Menu" button and the down arrow key to scroll to "Setup," then highlight "Auto-Scan" and press "OK" to rescan the available channels, if necessary.
