As handy as the Palm device is, you may find you're spending unnecessary time performing simple, repetitive tasks. You can customize your Pen stroke to perform multistep processes. In this eHow, we'll set up a single-stroke command for beaming.
Note: If you're using a device below a Palm III, you'll want to set up your Pen stroke to do something other than beaming. Follow these steps but choose a different option.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Tap the Applications icon (Palm III) or House icon (above Palm III).

  2. Step 2

Tap Prefs on the main Palm screen.

  3. Step 3

Choose Buttons from the drop-down menu in the top right of the screen.

  4. Step 4

Tap Pen to modify the Pen stroke.

  5. Step 5

Choose Beam Data (or something else) from the drop-down menu.

  6. Step 6

    Tap OK.

Tips & Warnings
  • To test your work, place your Palm facing another Palm device. Place your stylus in the graffiti writing area, and drag it to the top of the screen. The Beam box will appear, and your device will either successfully beam data or search for a device able to receive beamed data.
  • If you're not certain you're performing the Pen stroke correctly, try choosing Backlight from the Pen options. This will give you an immediate visual representation of your attempts.
