How Do I Fill Out a PDF?

To fill out a PDF you will need a PDF reader, such as Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader, which can be downloaded for free, allows you to edit a PDF by adding text to it. Simply use the Text Annotation Tool provided by Adobe to add text to the sections of the PDF that you would like to fill out.

Instructions

1. Open the PDF you would like to fill out with Adobe Reader.

2. Click on the Page of Text tool and hold (this tool is an icon and will appear as a piece of paper with writing on it). Within a few seconds, the button will expand to show other tools. Select the Text Annotation Tool from the list of options (this tool is an icon and will appear as the capital letter "T" with a plus sign next to it).

3. Click in the sections of the PDF that you would like to add text to with the Text Annotation Tool. After clicking, a text box will appear.

4. Type your desired text in the text box. When finished, choose the Hand tool, which looks like a hand, and click anywhere outside of the text box. Then use the hand tool to adjust the placement of the text box within the PDF.

5. Save your PDF when finished filling it out.
