How to Edit MySpace Emo Pictures
MySpace is a social networking website where users can make profiles of themselves and then become "friends" with other people who have posted their own profiles. One of MySpace's main features is the ability to post pictures of yourself. Emo is a type of fashion that is usually viewed as a "punk" or "goth" style. A commonly associated name for this fashion would be emotional punk. It has become a popular style, and some people like to post pictures of their emo fashion to MySpace. If you don't have any pictures of the emo fashion as modeled by yourself, you can find other people who put their own emo pictures on Myspace. Either way, you'll need practice to get good at editing these photos of the emo fashion.

Use your own emo pictures that you've put on MySpace of yourself, or find other emo images that others have put on MySpace for viewing. You can download those pictures to edit if you have none of yourself to use. Either way, find an image editing program you'd like to use to edit the emo pictures you've found on MySpace.

Download and try the image editing software Gimp (see the Resources download link). Gimp is open source software, meaning it is 100 percent free to use forever without limits. It offers tools to edit photos, such as different paint brushes. Download different kinds of brushes to paint over your emo image. You can download different kinds of gothic or punk brushes for editing your pictures. There are plenty of different kinds of brushes to use like crosses, skulls, flames and more. It also offers some more basic features, like cropping, resizing and rotating images. It doesn't have as many features as paid software though.

Try Photoshop (find a link in the Resources). Photoshop is expensive software made by the Adobe company and is one of the main image editing programs used by people in the professional image editing business. This software has most if not all of the features of Gimp, plus more. One of the Photoshop features is for editing layers on an image. Adding a new layer to an image is like putting a transparent piece of paper over the image. Then, you can edit on that piece of paper without touching the actual image itself. There are different kinds of layers you can add over the image too, such as text layer. You can use the text layer combined with an emo looking font to type some words to place over the image to give it an extra emo message.

Give Paint.net a whirl (see the download link in the Resources). Paint is free software. It doesn't have as many editing features as Gimp, because it hasn't been around as long, but it is a solid image editing program. The filter tool is something you can use to make an image more emo. Filters are like special effects you can apply to the whole image, and there are several different filters to try. Select a filter from the filter menu at the top of the screen, choose how powerful you want to make it or how much of the image it will affect, and then just let the program apply the filter. Experiment with the different filters provided in Paint until you find which ones deliver a darker more emo feel to your image.
