Fly Trap Instructions
Flies may be harmless pests, but nonetheless frustrating to see around the house. If you are dealing with a fly infestatation, putting out fly traps will reduce their numbers or eliminate them entirely. Constructing a fly trap is a straightforward process. Does this Spark an idea?

Screw the metal lid tightly onto the glass jar to prevent the lid from buckling.

Use the hammer and nail to punch four or five small holes in the lid. The holes created should be about the size of the flies themselves.

Use the needle-nose pliers to bend the metal holes back into place if you inadvertently make them too large.

Open the jar and place some bait inside. Bait for flies includes overripe pieces of fruit, an inch of vinegar mixed with sugar or a spoonful of dog food or cat food.

Screw the lid back on.

Place the jar at the greatest concentration of flies, which will be attracted to the bait and crawl in the jar but will not be able to crawl back out.

Tips & Warnings
For best results, clean the area completely before you set out the trap. This will force the flies to rely on the bait for food.
Empty out the jar regularly.
Be care when working with sharp metal edges on the lid of the jar.
