Cleaning a Gas Fireplace
Gas fireplaces add warmth and elegance to any home. Because they're clean-burning, gas fireplaces require less maintenance than traditional fireplaces. Turn off the fireplace's pilot light, gas and electrical supply. Make sure the fireplace is cool before removing the logs or coals.

Remove the logs or coals and scrub them with the brush to remove soot and dust. Set them aside.

Vacuum the firebox with the brush attachment. Remove any dust and burnt residue.

Dampen a cloth with warm water and wipe off the burners and pilot nozzle. Check the burners, pilot nozzle and insert for cracks or wear.

Clean the glass doors with glass cleaner and a dry cloth on both sides.

Light the pilot light. Replace the logs or coals, then turn on the gas and electrical supply. Test the fireplace by burning the logs or coals for 30 minutes.
