How to Download Music From LimeWire to an iPod Touch
LimeWire is a popular file sharing, peer-to-peer network. LimeWire users can download many different file types, including music files. Once the music files are downloaded to a user's computer, the user may then store the files on her computer, or transfer them to other storage devices such as an MP3 player like the iPod Touch. If downloading files to be loaded on an iPod Touch, users should make sure the audio file is compatible with the device.

Launch LimeWire.

Type in the name of the song, album or artist into the search field at the top of the interface.

Click on a song from the list of results that you want to download. Confirm the download by clicking "Yes" when prompted. To track the progress of your download, look at the bottom of the interface under "Downloads." The estimated time left for the completion of the download will be listed next to the track. Once the track has completely downloaded, it will disappear from the "Downloads" page.

Locate your saved audio file. By default, the file will save in the "Saved" folder (which LimeWire created when it was installed) in your "My Documents" folder. Make sure that saved file is in an audio format that is an iPod-compatible format. (MP3, WAV, AAC, and AIFF formatted music is compatible with iPod Touch).

Launch iTunes. Once your songs have completely download, you may close LimeWire, but it is not necessary.

Connect your iPod Touch to your computer using the device's USB sync cable. The larger end of the cable must be inserted into the bottom of your iPod Touch. The smaller end of the cable must be inserted into your computer's USB port.

Wait for iTunes to recognize your device. Once iTunes recognizes the device, the device will be listed under "Devices" in the left pane. Click the device.

Find a playlist to transfer your LimeWire downloads to. Either select a playlist listed underneath your device, or create a new playlist by selecting your device in the left pane, then selecting the "File" menu at the top of the interface and clicking "New Playlist."

Drag your downloaded LimeWire music from your "Saved" folder (or other folder) and drop it in your playlist window. Your music will then sync to your iPod Touch.
