How to Finish a Cover Letter
The cover letter is an important document because it is one of the only ways a prospective employer may have to evaluate you as a job candidate. The ending of your cover letter could be last thing an employer remembers before making a decision about you, Therefore, it is important that you properly conclude a cover letter and provide a memorable finish.

Reread the entire cover letter before writing the conclusion to the letter. While reading, write down any main points you wish to reiterate in the conclusion.

Write down how you specifically fit into the organization's mission. It is important to provide the reader with a big picture statement about how you would fit into the grand scheme of the organization.

Reiterate skills that you possess that are specifically stated in the job description. You can also include a brief statement of how your prior experience has developed your skill set.

Provide multiple ways for the reader to contact you. This includes a phone number, email address and physical address. You can also provide availability for an interview.

Close your cover letter by thanking the reader for their consideration. Type your name, and add your signature in ink.

Include an attachments line after your signature if you are including multiple attachments with the cover letter. For example, a writing job might ask for multiple writing samples. An attachments line could like the following:
"Attachments (3): Resume; 25-page writing sample; 10-page writing sample"
