Things You'll Need

  • Nail polish remover
  • Soft bristled brush
  • Shoe leather dye
  • Apply nail polish remover to a soft bristled brush and scrub the entire length of the belt until all the dye has been removed. Rinse the belt with cool water and let dry.

  • Apply shoe leather dye, your color choice, to the belt. Some brands come with an applicator. If you do not have an applicator, an old sponge will do just fine. Thoroughly read the instructions for theparticular dye product you are using. Apply multiple coats to achieve a more vibrant shade. Allow to dry at least one hour between coats.

  • Hang the belt to in a dry, well-ventilated area for at least 48 hours. Wipe away any excess dye that may have gotten on the hardware of the belt before wearing.
