How to Create Your Own Palm Business Card

Rate: (4 Ratings)

Gone are the days of business meetings that end with the customary exchange of business cards. The current trend is to "beam" your business card to the other attendees - assuming, of course, that they are as hip as you and own a beamable Palm device. While it's possible to beam any contact information to another Palm device, your selected business card beams with a single press of a button. You must be using a Palm III or greater to beam or receive beamed information.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Press the Phone icon to display the Address list.
Step2
Select the contact name you want to use as your business card. You may need to create this if you haven't already added your own information to your address list.
Step3
Tap the Menu icon.
Step4
Choose Select Business Card from the Record menu.
Step5
Tap Yes to select this name as your business card. You'll notice that a Rolodex card icon appears next to Address Edit.
Step6
Press and hold the Phone icon. The Beam box will appear, and your Palm device will search for another Palm device to beam your business card to.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can only have one contact established as your business card. Be certain you're not including personal contact information (like a nickname or your home address) if you intend to distribute this card professionally. You might want to create separate contacts for your professional and personal information.
