Cleaning the lint system of a dryer will save on utility bills and possible prevent the dryer lint from catching on fire. Dryer lint can build up and clog the dryers air flow. The lint can also be too close to the heat source of the dryer. It is important to keep the dryer as free from lint as possible. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Used dryer sheet

      Remove the lint trap. Clean all lint off of the trap with a used dryer sheet.

      Sweep the mesh with the brush attachment of a vacuum. This will remove any lint that cannot be seen.

      Sweep inside where the trap was removed. Use the vacuum without the brush attachment. Put the vacuum hose into the hole the trap came out of. Push the hose as far as it can reach.

      Pull the dryer from the wall. Inspect the vent tube that is leading from the dryer to outside for lint.

      Remove the vent tube. Look inside for lint. If lint is present, use the vacuum hose and sweep the lint out of the entire vent tube. Re-attach the vent.

  • Clean the lint trap after every load.
