Find a provider such as blogger.com. Blogger will provide you with your very own website. It is a site that is geared toward blogs but this is adequate for almost anyone wanting a free site, and the more technically competent will be able to do more with it.

Choose your URL. Once you go to the provider and sign up you will be able to sign up for a sub domain URL. For blogger, the URL will be the name that you choose followed by .blogspot.com.

Design your page. These providers will have several templates for you to pick from. Choose the web page template you like best, with your color preferences. When you use the user name and password at setup, you will be able to log on and make changes and add pages through the template, and it is totally free.
