The remote desktop utility in non-Home versions of Windows XP, Vista and 7 will enable you to change settings on your home computer (or any remote computer) from any other Windows-based PC that has the Remote Desktop Connection utility. This will allow you to alter your Internet Explorer settings while away from the PC, keeping your computer safe.

• IP address of the computer to be accessed

Instructions

1. Click "Start" on the remote computer and type "Remote Desktop Connection" into the "Search" box.

2. Press "Enter" and input the IP address of the computer to be contacted.

3. Click "Connect" and input your username and password (if prompted).

4. Click "Start," "Programs," and open "Internet Explorer."

5. Click the "Tools" and "Internet Options" menu to change the settings.
