How to Install a Java Console

The Java Console is a screen containing important information about the Java software on your computer. The Java Console gets installed on your computer alongside the main Java software, so if you want to install this information screen onto your computer you'll need to visit Java's website and download the free software installation files. This will take a few minutes to do, depending on the speed of your Web connection.

      Open your Web browser, visit the Java website and click "Downloads."

      Choose a version of the Java software that is compatible with your computer's operating system from the list provided, then click "Download" to save the Java installer file to your computer.

      Open the Java installer file you downloaded in the previous step by double-clicking on it. This launches the Java setup program. Click "Install" to install Java, as well as the Java Console, on your computer.

  • You can view the Java console on your Internet Explorer or Firefox browser by clicking "Tools" and then clicking "Java Console."
