How to Decorate for a Disney Princess Party
A princess party is a popular theme for a young girl's birthday. Decorating for the party can be easy with a few ideas and items. With decorations that fit in with the Disney princess theme, little girls will have a memorable time celebrating with some of their favorite princesses. Does this Spark an idea?

Make the party room look like a castle. Cut out a series of brick shapes from a roll of brown packing paper. Tape these to the walls of the party room to look like the inside of a stone castle. Put up sconces with lit candles to add to the castle feeling. Using the leftover packing paper, make signs with messages, like Ballroom and Dungeon, and hang them on various doors throughout the house.

Make centerpieces out of items associated with the Disney princesses. Use a glass or clear plastic shoe for Cinderella, a seashell for Ariel, a genie lamp for Jasmine, an apple for Snow White, a book or rose for Belle, a sewing spindle for Aurora, a pine cone for Pocahontas, a sword for Mulan and a toy frog for Tiana, the newest princess from "The Princess and the Frog." Place these in the center of tables where the kids will eat. Play a game by letting the children guess which item comes from which movie.

Make a dress-up area. In a corner of the room hang children's princess dresses from hooks. These can be found at local costume or thrift stores. Spread out on a table accessories, like costume jewelry, tiaras and scepters.. Let the kids pick out their own pieces and put on a fashion show. Have a camera on hand to take a picture of each girl that they can take home.

Place a a cardboard crown at each seat. These can be found at most craft or party stores. Let the kids decorate them using finger paints, glitter and fake plastic jewels. The plastic jewels can be scattered across the tables for added decoration. The finished crowns can act as a party favor.

Tips & Warnings
Write each child's name onto their homemade crown. Let the guests keep the different dress up pieces they choose.
To cut down on fire risk, use electric candles instead of real ones. To decrease arguments, make sure there are enough dresses for all the girls attending.
