How to Print on a Writable CD

Printable CDs usually have plain white labels.

Most writable CDs come with a colorful or plain label. For those who are artistically inclined (or bored) a blank CD is a great canvas to decorate. Creating a unique look for your writable CD is very simple. The printer you use should come with software to help you make personalize labels. The printer will print the labels you created directly onto the disk, rather than on a sticker that you transfer to the disk.

Things You'll Need

• CD/DVD printer
• Writable CD

Instructions

1. Design the label for the writable CD. The printer should come with software that is designed to help you create labels. Access the software and templates and follow all prompts.

2. Insert the writable CD into the proper tray of the printer. The tray should be square with a circle in the center, although appearance will vary by model. Some computers can print directly onto CD labels. Check your computer's manual.

3. Push the tray in and press the "Print" button.
