How Can I Scan a Business Card With a Regular Scanner?
If you need a digital copy of your business card, or you want to store the information from a received card on your computer, you may find it necessary to scan a business card into the computer. This creates a digital copy of the business card, allowing you to import the data into most word processing and image editing programs. All that is required is a connected scanner.

1
Open the scanner bed and place the business card face down in the corner of the scanner that has an arrow pointing to it. Close the lid to the scanner bed once the card is in place.
-
2
Click "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories" and choose "Camera and Scanner Wizard." Once the program loads, select "Scanner," and Windows will detect the connected scanner.
-
-
3
Select "Scan," and the scanner will import an image of the business card. The program can detect the size of the business card, so it does not import the negative space of the card.
-
4
Click "File," "Save" and then title the business card document and choose a location to save the file to. Select "Save" once again, and the digital copy of the business card will be created.
