It is quite an easy and convenient method of sending money, especially due to the availability of thousands of agents scattered around the globe.

Instructions

1. Locate a MoneyGram agent in your area. MoneyGram agents are spread out in different parts of the United States (see Resources). On this link, you will be asked to enter your state and city and zip code. Upon entering this information, the website will give you addresses of available agents in your area.

2. Visit the MoneyGram agent. You are required to bring along some kind of identification, such as driver's license or passport.

3. Fill out the “Sender” form given to you by the agent. The form will ask for necessary information, like your name and address along with the recipient’s name and address. As you hand the filled out form along with amount to be sent to the agent, he will provide you with a reference number. The money is usually transferred within 10 minutes. The charge for a transfer is based on the amount of money being sent.

4. Call the recipient and ask him to write the reference number down. When the recipient visits the nearest MoneyGram agent for receiving the money, he will be asked for the reference number to receive the funds.
