How to Configure Windows Mail for a Verizon DSL Connection

Verizon provides its DSL customers with a free email account, accessible through a web-based interface as well as through email programs like Windows Mail, Outlook and Thunderbird. This email account belongs to you as long as you're a Verizon DSL customer. Learn how to configure the Windows Mail client to send and receive email from your Verizon email account.

      Type your first and last names in the provided box when asked for "Display Name." Click "Next."

      Fill in the boxes with Verizon's POP and SMTP information. Verizon's POP server is incoming.Verizon.net, and its SMTP server is outgoing.Verizon.net. Make sure "POP3" is selected in the drop-down box, then click "Next."

      Type your account name and password into the boxes. Your account name will likely be your Verizon email address without the "@Verizon.net" portion. Click "Next > Finish" to complete your email setup.
