How to Load a Video in PSP

The PSP supports AVI and MPEG video formats. Using your computer's file management system (Windows Explorer), you can add videos directly to the PSP. Unless you're using the PSPGo (which comes with a 16 GB internal hard drive), you will need to add a Memory Stick Duo to expand the 32 MB of memory (which isn't enough space to add a substantial amount of video to the PSP).

      Insert a Memory Stick Duo (if applicable) to the PSP's "Memory" slot.

      Connect the PSP to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Turn the PSP on. Scroll to the "Settings" menu. Select "USB Mode." Your computer will detect the PSP.

      Click the "Start" icon in the Windows taskbar. Click "My Computer" (or "Computer" for Vista or 7 users).

      Double click the "PSP/Removable Disk" icon. Double click the "Media" folder. Double click the "Videos" folder.

      Drag and drop the video that you want on the PSP into the "Videos" folder.

Tips & Warnings

  • Watch videos on the PSP by selecting the "Videos" tab from the XMB navigation bar (the menu that loads when you turn the PSP on). Scroll through the preview thumbnails and select the video that you want to watch.
