Browsing software comes with a history feature that can be used a number of ways. Browser history keeps a running record of searches performed on a computer and the sites visited. You can use this feature to find sites that you forgot to bookmark or to check up on what your children are browsing on the Internet.

Instructions

  1. Check History in Internet Explorer

    • 1

      Left-click the "Favorites" button under the Forward and Back buttons at the top of Internet Explorer.

      Left-click the "History" tab.

      Choose a time frame to explore. Search history is included in your browser's history.

    Check History in Firefox

      Left-click the "History" button at the top of Firefox.

    • 5

      Left-click "Show All History" in the drop-down menu. The Library dialog box opens in a new window.

      Double-click a time frame to view the history from that period.

    Check History in Google Chrome

    • 7

      Left-click the Wrench icon in the top right of Google chrome.

      Left-click "History" from the drop-down menu. A new tab opens showing the History options.

      Left-click a time frame in the History tab to view history from that period or type a search term in the box and left-click the "Search History" button.

Tips & Warnings

  • The keyboard shortcut for History in Internet Explorer is to press the "Ctrl" and "H" keys simultaneously.

  • The keyboard shortcut to view History in Firefox is to press the "Ctrl", "Shift" and "H" keys simultaneously.
