Instructions

    • 1

Read all safety decals located on the machine's control panel and impeller housing. Check the tire pressure with a pressure gauge and adjust it to meet the air pressure recommended on the tire's sidewall. Check the engine crankcase oil while the engine is cold. The engine oil fill and dipstick is located on the right lower corner of the engine. Be sure the oil level is visibly located between the two hash marks on the dipstick shaft. Fill the fuel tank with fresh gasoline.

    • 2

Place the key in the "stop" position and squeeze the attachment clutch lever (located on the right handle bar). Pull the recoil starter rope. If the impeller is frozen (and you cannot pull the recoil starter rope) move the machine indoors to thaw. If then engine turns, begin the starting procedures.

    • 3

Turn the snow discharge chute straight ahead. Disengage the traction clutch (lever is on the left handlebars) and the attachment drive clutch (lever is located on the right handlebars). Check to make sure both are disengaged. Push the fuel primer bulb (located on the left side of the engine) three times for a cold engine. Apply the choke to the full position (lever located on the left side of the engine).

    • 4

Set the throttle to the "fast" position. Insert the ignition key into the ignition key switch, and push it to the "run" position. Don't twist it. Grab the recoil starter rope, and pull it gently till it meets resistance. Let the rope rewind. Pull the rope sharply to a full arm's extension. Let the rope rewind slowly. Repeat the pulling and rewinding steps until the engine starts.

    • 5

Set the throttle to the "slow" position and allow the engine to warm up for four minutes. After the engine has warmed up, set the throttle to the "run" position. Engage the attachment clutch first (located on the right handlebars). The auger blade should begin rotating. Engage the traction drive clutch (on the left handlebars) to begin clearing snow.

    • 6

Clear an area of snow by making a series of overlapping paths. For larger areas, begin in the center and throw snow to one side so that the snow is not cleared more than one time. Direct the snow away from the area that is to be cleared, and with the direction of the prevailing winds. Press down on the handlebars to elevate the auger when turning the machine around between paths.

    • 7

Disengage the attachment clutch and the traction drive clutch before turning the machine to the "stop" position when finished clearing snow.

Tips & Warnings

  • The electric start feature may be used if it is installed on your machine. Plug the machine into a 120 volt (grounded three wire) extension cord, then use the starter button instead of the recoil starter rope.

  • To avoid serious injury always shut off the engine before trying to unclog a clogged snow chute or jammed impeller. Never use your hand or arm to unclog a clogged snow chute or jammed impeller.
