How to Change Your Steam Name

Steam is a free downloadable game client for the PC and Mac. Once you have signed up for a free Steam account and installed the client on your computer, you can purchase, download and play many retail games through the game client. Steam assigns each user three different account tags including the SteamID, Steam Account Name and Steam Community ID. You can't change the SteamID or Steam Account Name, as these are attached to your Steam purchases. However, you can change your Steam Community ID name, which is the name that people on the Steam Community forums and website will see.
