How to Calculate Uptime

The "uptime" of a computer is the amount of time the computer has been on since it was last rebooted or turned on. Knowing this information can help you determine if the computer is functioning smoothly or if there is some issue that is causing it to reboot more often than it should be. You can find out the uptime of your computer by running a simple command in the Windows Command Prompt.

Instructions

1. Click "Start."

2. Browse to "All Programs," "Accessories" and click on "Command Prompt."

3. Type "net statistics server" and hit the "Enter" key.

4. Look for the time that is displayed next to the label "Statistics since..." as this is the uptime of your computer.
