How to Set the Clock in a 2002 Jeep

Save

Your 2002 Jeep Wrangler has a clock built into the factory stereo system. Resetting the time on the clock is required if you disconnect the battery or change time zones. Daylight savings time will also require you to change the time on your clock twice a year. You can set the clock in your Jeep with a ballpoint pen in just a few minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Ballpoint pen
  • Sit in the driver's seat of your Jeep Wrangler. Turn on the ignition switch but do not start the Jeep.

  • There are many controls on the front of the radio. Look for the two small holes marked "H" and "M." Push the power button on the front of the radio to turn it on.

  • Insert the tip of a ballpoint pen into the hole labeled with an "H" for the hour setting. There is a small button inside the hole. Press the pen in and let off repeatedly while watching the hour on the clock advance. Stop when you get to the correct hour.

  • Insert the tip of your ballpoint pen into the hole labeled with an "M" for the minutes setting. Push in and release repeatedly until the minutes are set correctly.

  • Remove the pen once the time is set correctly. The clock will automatically begin counting forward from the time you set.Turn off the radio power and the ignition switch.
