If you are having problems with your computer, a technician can use the remote connection to log on to the PC from a different location and solve the problem right away.

      Log on to your home computer and right-click on "My Computer." Click on the "Remote" tab and make sure all of the check boxes on that tab are checked.

      Click on the "Computer Name" tab and write down the complete name of your computer. You will need this name to connect to your PC remotely.

      Click on the "Start" button and choose "Run" from the menu. Type "cmd" in the box.

      Type "ipconfig" at the prompt to get the IP address of your computer. You will need this IP address to connect remotely.

      Log on to a different computer and click on the "Start" button. Choose "Run" from the menu and type "mstsc" in the box. Type the name or the IP address of your computer in the remote connection box and click "OK" to start the connection.
