Instructions

    • 1

Rotate the rod counterclockwise to open the blinds partially. Tilt them enough to one side so that you can easily dust each vane without having the vanes overlap.

    • 2

Stand on a stepladder and dust each vane from top to bottom with a feather duster. Inspect each vane for stains as you dust. Turn the rod back the other way to rotate the blinds so that you can dust the other side.

    • 3

Fill a small container about halfway with warm water. Add two to three drops of mild liquid dish soap. Agitate the water with your fingers to form bubbles.

    • 4

Dip a sponge into the soapy water. Squeeze to remove excess water.

    • 5

Sponge any stains that are present on the blinds. Blot dry with an absorbent towel.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't have a feather duster, use the upholstery brush attachment on your vacuum to dust the vanes.

  • If you find it difficult to clean the vane while it is hanging, detach it from its holder hanging from the headrail. Often, it is a clip that the top of the blind will slip in and out of easily. Place the vane on a flat surface to clean and hang back up to air dry.
