Ensure you have enough space on your hard drive by deleting unwanted programs.

Norton Internet Security Suite protects a computer from viruses, spyware, hackers and other potentially dangerous threats. The program also gives automatic updates in five to fifteen minute intervals based on the settings. Norton Internet Security Suite is a rather large program and requires 300 MB of available hard disk space. If a user prefers not to allocate the hard drive space to the software, the software can easily be removed from the system. Freeing up hard drive space can sometimes make a slow computer run faster. When choosing to remove a security program, it may be beneficial to install a smaller security program that takes up far less space to ensure your computer is protected.

Instructions

    • 1

Close all open and running programs and applications. This will prevent any loss of unsaved work during deletion.

    • 2

Go to "Start" then "Control Panel." This will bring up all the control functions for your computer.

    • 3

Double-click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon to bring up a list of currently installed programs on the hard drive.

    • 4

Locate "Norton Internet Security Suite" and double-click on the program name. This will initiate the uninstall process. Follow the on-screen prompts to ensure the program is removed correctly. The prompts will ask you if you are sure you want to delete the program and erase the folder where the program is stored. When prompted, restart the computer to complete removal of the program.
