How to Block Ads on Websites
Internet advertising usually comes in two forms: through pop-up advertisements and through embedded scripts in the web page. The ability to block these ads comes packaged with most modern web browsers, and more advanced functionality exists with minimal installation and configuration.

1
Install an up-to-date browser with advanced pop-up blocking capabilities. The newest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome all come with pop-up blocking by default. These browsers will warn when a pop-up is blocked and will allow the user to choose which pop-ups to view.

2
Install ad-blocking software in the browser. Different browsers come with different ad-ons. Most have included ad-ons that block scripts that run advertising directly on the website and protect the user. Firefox has its popular Adblock software, while Internet Explorer offers IE7Pro. Google Chrome also offers Adblock software.

3
Install propriety software to block ads. These programs install directly on the computer and filter ads for the entire system, not just the browser.
