Change default picture folder in Publisher

Microsoft Publisher has a default picture folder that automatically opens whenever you insert a picture. This can be frustrating if you have to navigate to a different folder each time you add an image in Publisher. You can change the default image folder if you have a specific folder where pictures are saved on your computer. This can save you time and aggravation. Once the default folder is changed, you won't have to change it again, unless you want to do so.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a new or existing publication in Microsoft Publisher.

    • 2

Select "Tools" and "Options" from the toolbar. The "Options" dialog box will open.

    • 3

Go to the "General" tab and highlight "Pictures" from "File Locations." Click the "Modify..." button.

    • 4

Navigate to the new default folder for your pictures in the "Modify Location" dialog box, then press "OK." Click "OK" again to return to your publication.
