How to Enable Client Services for Netware thumbnail
Netware services provide network connections.

The Client Services for Netware provides Microsoft Windows users with the ability to communicate with Novell Netware servers and machines. Novell Netware is a common network architecture used in large enterprise businesses. Windows client machines cannot natively interact with these networks unless the Netware client is installed on the machine. The software is available in the Control Panel's networking properties.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click the "Network Neighborhood" icon on the desktop and select "Properties." If you have a Vista or Windows 7 machine, the icon is labeled "Network."

    • 2

Click the link labeled "Manage Network Connections." A window opens with a list of network cards configured on the machine. Right-click "Local area connection" and select "Properties."

    • 3

Click the "General" tab. Click the "Install" button located below the list of protocols currently installed on the machine.

    • 4

Click "Client" in the section labeled "Select Network Component Type." In the new window, click "Add." Select "Client Service for NetWare" and click "OK." The Netware service client is installed on the Windows machine.

    • 5

Reboot the computer after the client installs. Your computer is now configured to interact with Novell Netware servers and computers.
