When signing up to rent a home, you are required to fill out a home rental application. The application has basic information about yourself and some of your rental history. This allows the company or individual renting out the home to determine if you are suitable for renting the location. The review process should only take a few days, as long as you fill out the home rental application properly.

Instructions

1. Read through the entire document before signing anything. You need to make sure you know what you are putting your name on before proceeding.

2. Sign your name on the form, then include your current address, contact information, and possibly your Social Security number. Some locations perform a credit check to see if you are often delinquent on monthly payments or skip out on payments altogether.

3. Include previous locations you have lived in. Individuals renting out a home like seeing that applicants have stayed in one place for a long time (a year or more). If you are always moving out after a few months, this makes it difficult to rent the location out again and you are more likely to be denied approval.

4. Write down your current job and how much you make. You need to make over what the current monthly rent is to be considered for the home. If you can't make the monthly payments, the property manager is not going to rent out the location to you.

5. Initial every place on the application where your initials are asked for. This is often after each stated agreement on the lease (such as agreements about pets, giving parties, and who is in charge of repairs). Initialing signifies you understand what has been initialed.
