How to Find the Model Number of an IBM Server
IBM and Lenovo servers are among the most popular in the world. These servers are well known for their near universal compatibility and ease of connectivity. Troubleshooting IBM servers requires specialized courses, training and certifications. When getting the help you need with technical assistance, ordering parts or other services, the model number of your server is usually needed by IBM to create the correct order for your system.

1
Access the bottom-left corner of the chassis of any BladeCenter server to locate the label containing the model number of your server. Also, BladeCenters have a model label affixed directly to the server itself on the back and also under the Lightpath diagnostics panel on the front.
-
2
Look on the front panel of any IBM Lenovo xSeries server to locate the model number printed on the label. xSeries servers also have an identical label affixed to the back panel.

3
Locate the model number printed on a label on any IntelliStation on the right front panel. These computers are often used as server systems linked together in large numbers, though much less common than the xSeries or the BladeCenter. All other IBM Lenovo server model numbers, also including personal computers and laptops, can be found at the IBM Lenovo model number resource page (see References).
