When you put a lot of time and effort into pressing your flowers, you'll want to be able to preserve them properly. Pressed flowers are very fragile and need to be stored in a way that will continue to keep them dry and will also protect them. You also want to use a storage technique that will make it easy for you to find just the right flower for use in a project.
Things You'll Need
- White heavy card stock
- Tissue paper
- Activated desiccant paper
- Zip storage bag large enough to hold the card stock flat
- Plastic tub with tight lid
Slide your pressed flower(s) gently onto a sheet of card stock from the container that was holding them. If you cannot slide them, move your pressed flowers to the card stock using the tweezers.
Use the tweezers to arrange the flowers so that they do not overlap. Pressed flowers are very fragile and the simple act of stacking them could cause them to break or flake.
Lay a sheet of tissue paper over the flowers.
Insert the sheet of card stock, flowers and tissue paper into a zip-type plastic bag.
Add a piece of activated desiccant paper to the plastic bag
Press out the air from the bag and zip it closed.
File your pressed flowers in the plastic tub. Seal the lid on the tub.
